I remember seeing a post here some time ago about someone considering fabbing up some small block C body headers. Any news on these or does anyone have a source for said animal?

Still looking for some good ones myself.. there is an ebay list for some "race" headers that look like they might work.. if I don't find something soon I might have to experiment with those.
Anybody know of any small block headers for us off hand?

Hey Glen, These look like a pretty good deal. Did you have any info that these would work, or did you just wing it since the price was good? Do you think the mini starter is a requirement? Dave [ Edited Sun Aug 01 2010, 10:45AM ]
I never knew these would fit,but i did fit a set of cast '92 manifolds and they cleared everything so i gave them a shot.My '68 340 HP manifolds fit great also. P/S has plenty of clearance everywhere and only the top of the steering box came close to the D/S. Stock starter should fit no problem as there is plenty of clearace for starter, and r+r of starter is a breeze now. Heres where its close. Although this is not mine, you can see how the p/s fluid probably gets a little warmer, the closer it gets to the header. Thats why i wrapped my tube with header wrap in that area as to deflect some of it away.

I think your method is going to become more popular as time goes on and parts get more difficult to find. I've always thought there are parts out there that can cross over, it just takes someone to try, like you did. As for the headers, the picture you posted looks nothing like the one on ebay, so I'm assuming the ebay listing is a generic pic, and yours is the actual part, correct? Did yours come with the gaskets and bolts as pictured in the auction? Dave
That picture i posted was not mine,i just used it to illustrate with the red circle where there is a bit of a clearance issue on the steering box with the #1 header tube as it drops down. The E-bay stainless headers are the ones i am running. Gaskets and bolts are included. Lots of plug clearance also. Under chasis headers are always the best way to go for a performance standpoint,..but i guess we will take what there is.
