Does anyone know what length throttle cable I would need for a stock replacement? I was hoping to find out without pulling the old one out yet. Looking at the lokar 24" or 36" universal. hookin up to a Demon 650.
P.S. this is my first post and would like to say it is nice to have a site dedicated to these cars.

Hi Adam and welcome!
The overall length of the throttle cable is 19.5". The sheath, from firewall flange to the part that clamps to the bracket on the intake manifold, is 11.75".
Won't a Holley Mopar linkage adapter work on your Demon to allow you to retain the original throttle cable and kickdown rod?
BTW, if the info in your bio is correct, our ages are only a month apart.

Thanks for the reply. the one in the car now has a frayed sheath and cannot withstand pressure from the clamp to hold it in place without binding the cable. So I figured I would just replace it?

Cheap fix:Grab a throttle cable from any slant six car. They are longer than 2bbl cables, and even longer than 4bbl cables. Looks "stock" and nobody would know. [ Edited Sat May 30 2009, 06:21PM ]

According to info that I've gathered, brand new throttle cables are still available from the Mopar dealer under part #2465485.
Aftermarket parts company Pioneer also makes two that are close. Here are the Pioneer part numbers and overall lengths: CA-8417 (19.2") CA8418 (24.6")
The longer of the two may need to be shortened at the gas-pedal end to work properly. When I bought my convertible, I was surprised at how gutless the 383 was, and how it never kicked into passing gear. After I built a new 383 and dropped it in, it still behaved similarly which was now starting to trouble me.
I got the idea to have a friend mat the gas pedal (engine was off) while I looked down through the carb. Carb wasn't going to WOT! Throttle cable had been replaced and was too long.
