I have a 1970 PH29 fastback 2-door coupe. Rain and vinyl top did considerable damage to the backs of the C-pillars. I believe I will need cut-outs from a parts car for the c-pillars. Will the C-pillars from PH29 and PM29 1969-1971 fit? There is also a great deal of pitting across the top of the roof. If you have faced this kind of repair, what did it cost? Did you go with a new vinyl top or painted roof? thanks, Ben

You can also use C-pillars off of a 1969-71 Fury 4 door hardtop. The 29 series coupe uses the 4dr HT roof.
It's going to be a lot of work to fix that. All the trim, weatherstripping, and glass needs to be removed. The back part of the interior should come out too, to avoid setting the car on fire during welding. I would say that you are looking around 2 grand to have a pro shop fix that.
It would be best to put a vinyl top back on the car.

Hello, and welcome to the board.
Did you just recently purchase this purple sport fury? Saw it on a craigslist add, if it's the same car?
Anyway I had a 70 Sport fury with a PH29 roof, and it was an original painted top car. Top was EW1 - Spinaker white, and the body was FT6 - Frosted teal metallic. Looked great.

Thank you Jeff for the response. I think that at least 2 grand will be required, plus patch panels for both sides. Thanks for the word on the 4-door. Maybe I can cut up one in a junkyard.

actually Ben your car is a Formal hardtop not a fastback. 29 is the Formal hardtop coupe and the 4 dr hardtops code 43 used the same rear window, so you could use the glass from a 4dr hardtop, not sure about the metal but i don't see why not. you could get a Sport Fury 2 dr with 23 & 29 roofs. if you have a 70 sales brochure you can see the differences. anyway, good luck with it.
here's a pic of my friend's code 23 fury III coupe roof/rear window, same as used on the GT - which only used the 23 roof.
Sorry to hijack this thread, but as i'm looking at your friends car, Marko. I have always been curios as why a Monaco 500 like mine and yours in 69' had the side stripe but none on a 70' or even the Furys. I was wondering if one could be made to fit a 69' or 70' Fury as the 69' Monaco's and Polara's were very unique. Ben... are you going to keep the same colour combo?. I like it! Speaking of 69'/70' Fury's check this out. I seen this when i did a google search and it looks well done...almost looks factory.

Glen: yes, I was going to stick with the purple and black theme. Marko: I got the PH29 info from John Lee, Standard Catalog of Chrysler, 1924-1990. He lists the PH29 and PM29 as 2-dr FsBK Coupe for both 1970 and 1971. He lists the PH23 and PM23 as 2-dr HT Coupe. Also, Galen Govier, Chrysler Corporation Production Option Code Book 1969-1971 lists the 23 as a 2-dr Hardtop and the 29 as 2-dr Sports Hardtop. He makes no mention of a formal Hardtop. My car is PH29L0D. With all due respect, I think your facts are backward.

with all due respect, my facts are accurate ben. i take it this is your 1st fury coupe ? ...... ive had 6 of both types. you have a formal coupe. get yourself a 70 sales brochure and you will see what i am saying. also look at the standard catalog again and you will see it lists PM29 as FsTp Cpe not FsBK Coupe. look at the rear side windows on thrashingcows beautiful sport fury. they are upright and your car uses the same back window and roof as the 4door hardtop. the 4 dr hardtop roof and rear glass is not a fastback either. you didn't notice the Fury GT has the 23 hardtop roof line and not the 29 ? the rear side windows on the 23 roof are sloped back not upright. tell you what, i'll see if i can scan you the 70 sales brochure and send it you. regardless, a purple 70 sport fury is rare; there were very few furies that got painted in the "High-Impact" colors. is your car a console shift or does it have the buddy seat ? mark
